Editor reviews

Brandon Sanderson’s brilliant second instalment in the epic fantasy series The Stormlight Archive, Words of Radiance, rivals anything dished up by other masters of the genre. In this thrilling audiobook, various factions vie for control of the magical Shard artefacts whose mysterious power is in great demand. As war looms on the horizon, aristocratic dynasties struggle for power. Available from Audible, Words of Radiance: The Stormlight Archive, Book 2 is narrated by the team of Kate Reading and Michael Kramer and is perfect for fans of Game of Thrones.

Summary

Book two of the Stormlight Archive.

From the best-selling author who completed Robert Jordan's epic Wheel of Time series comes an original new creation that matches anything else in modern fantasy for epic scope, thrilling imagination, superb characters and sheer addictiveness. Return to a planet swept by apocalyptic storms, a world tipping into war as aristocratic families move to control the shard blades and shard plates, ancient artifacts from a past civilisation that can win wars.

As the world tips into a war for control of the mythical artifacts of power made from Shard, characters are swept up into new dangers which will threaten their integrity and their lives. Huge ideas-filled, world-spanning fantasy from a master of the genre.

Cant wait to listen to the final chapter

I have totally enjoyed listening to this story and cannot wait to buy the final chapter. Sanderson"s mastery of creating a complete world to place his heroes in is amazing, I feel I have found my author, at least for the next 10 books.

Excellent all round

the stormlight archive is one of the greatest pieces of modern fantasy in production, and this book does not drop the ball.

Kramer and Reading both add a huge amount to the story in their own way,. Having read the book before this was a fantastic narration with plenty more to offer than my initial read.

Epic

It's like the branches of streams all coming together for an excellent climax. Worth the huge length of the book.

Storm father she blushed

Parts of this story I loved, truly felt I was on an epic journey of wonder and a fantasy story with huge consequences.
Other parts made me want to throw it out the car window.
I feel it needs more adult and grit in the story. They talk about curses and being crude but the only thing anyone says is storms or storm father and my god everyone seems to blush all the time.
Everyone is just too proper, even the slaves and murders.

I did enjoy this but it seems like a PG13 story that's just not allowed to be anymore rude, crude, graphic, gritty, evil or just say a real swear word.
I mean if the only swear word anyone says is storms wouldn't you think there would be loads of variance. I'll kill to here someone called a storm hole.
